Status Quo Smackdown Roadtrip 2010 from Andi Norris on Vimeo.
This Summer will behold a tremendous opportunity for young, ambitious, entrepreneurial people: Status Quo Smackdown Roadtrip 2010.
Bloggers and overall awesome people, Colin (Exile Lifestyle), Andi (instigationology) and Ashley (The Middle Finger Project) are going on a roadtrip from New York, all over the country and stopping in Seattle to, “help aspiring entrepreneurs by providing a platform to gain access to those tools in order to accomplish goals, do big things and take names.”
More explanation for the website:
Think of it as Facebook meets Linked In, but with way cooler members. Everyone might not know one another yet, but they will soon, because they’re all seeking one common thing: A meaningful existence that’s backed by their values, their ideas & their hard work. Because they matter. And in some shape or form, they want their work to matter, too.
But above all, we’re entrepreneurs. And as entrepreneurs—we admit it—the go big or go home philosophy is present in everything we do. Coupled with a strong cup of joe & a heck of a lot of determination, we’ve now found ourselves in the position to want to help other enthusiastic visionaries take their ideas & turn them into something revolutionary (with only the occasional caffeine headache.)
How It Works
Way Below Status Quo is a networking site organized by major U.S. cities, allowing members to sign up (for free) into their closest city group, interact with other innovators that are nearby, and form connections that will result in lots of late night, after hour discussions—in a non creepy, e-Harmony kind of way. Members can build a profile, publicly post questions to other members, comment and respond to others, and even use the site as a blogging platform, where more in-depth ideas can be posted for all to view and discuss.
It’s a highly targeted networking platform that serves to connect, inspire & empower through the world’s most powerful business resource: People.
It’s a place to share. A place to pose questions. A place to flesh out ideas. A place where no one will laugh at those ideas and insist you’re being unrealistic. And if they do, we’ll be sure to administer a swift e-karate chop. That’s a promise.
I met recently with Andi to discuss the Seattle event. After my meeting with her down at Pike Place Market, I’m super pumped to be involved. For anyone that considers themselves as an entrepreneur I would love to see you come out. If you don’t see yourself as an entrepreneur, don’t sweet it. I consider myself an entrepreneur in the making, so don’t be afraid to join in if you are not so established.
The cool thing about this is that once the three of them leave they want the groups to stay together and continue to meet and share ideas and what not. If you want to lead one of the groups after they take off to the next city be sure to step up and take charge.

I found this group over the weekend. I hope to connect with them at one of the Midwest stops. This is a out of the box idea I look forward to joining in on. I'm in Milwaukee so perhaps Chicago or Madison.
Hey Cam, thanks for writing about Way Below Status Quo – I'm so intrigued! I hadn't heard about it before, but needless to say, I signed up. Thanks and good luck with the Seattle event!
Glad I could be of service
